About Anera

Since 1968, Anera has helped refugees and others hurt by conflicts in the Middle East live with dignity and purpose. Anera, which has no political or religious affiliation, works on the ground with partners in the West Bank, Gaza, East Jerusalem, Lebanon and Jordan. We mobilize resources for immediate humanitarian relief and for sustainable health, education and economic development efforts. Our staff are from the communities they serve, navigating the politics that constrict progress to get help where it’s needed most. We will keep building better lives until hope finds its way in the Middle East.

Mission

Anera provides humanitarian assistance and sustainable development to advance the well-being of refugees and other vulnerable communities – including low-income families, displaced people, women and children, older adults, and people with disabilities – in Palestine, Lebanon, and Jordan.

How are your donations to Anera used? 

Your donations to Palestine (Gaza and the West Bank), Lebanon and Jordan provide critical emergency relief, health services and long-term community development. By contributing to Anera, you fund the construction of schools and clinics, the repair of water and sanitation systems, and the creation of jobs in underserved communities. To ensure maximum efficiency and impact, Anera employs a 100% local professional staff who understand the immediate needs on the ground.

Palestine

In the West Bank, Gaza, and East Jerusalem, Anera addresses both urgent humanitarian needs and long-term development challenges. Our work focuses on improving access to healthcare, clean water, education, job training, and food security. In Gaza, where the humanitarian situation is especially severe due to a devastating war and years of blockade, Anera delivers emergency relief while also supporting infrastructure and economic recovery.

Lebanon

Anera supports vulnerable communities throughout Lebanon, including Palestinian and Syrian refugees as well as struggling Lebanese families. We invest in vocational education, job creation, and school rehabilitation, while also providing healthcare, water and sanitation, and seasonal humanitarian aid. When conflict displaces hundreds of thousands and strains the healthcare system, Anera adapts our programs to quickly deliver urgent relief. Our programs aim to strengthen communities and provide opportunities for people to build stable, dignified lives.
