This piece offers a surrealist perspective on police brutality, highlighting issues of racism, hierarchy, and institutional violence. Influenced by the death of George Floyd at the hands of Officer Derek Chauvin, both figures are depicted with unsettling smiles. The work asks how a universal sign of happiness can be twisted into something sadistic. The officer smiles while inflicting pain, while the victim simultaneously smiles and cries, revealing the contradiction of seeking happiness while existing within a rigged system.

A small collection of people at work. Each picture is quiet, representing the whispers of their work and the unseen labour that goes into most jobs. This is for them; for most people.

Kingdom of Geumbotap explores the harmony between past and future by combining traditional East Asian architecture with robotic systems. Inspired by cultural heritage and futuristic imagination, the work presents a world where advanced technology coexists with centuries-old traditions rather than replacing them.
Through detailed visual storytelling, the work considers how innovation can preserve cultural identity, suggesting that even lines of code can carry the memories and values of our roots.
Kingdom of Geumbotap

Beyond being visually striking, this piece emerged from a period of emotional turbulence within a relationship. The artist describes feeling as though they were constantly leaping between opposing emotions, uncertain which path to take. By externalising this intense outburst of feeling, the work transforms an internal emotional battle into something visible.

Laetitia Fawwaz’s hand-drawn illustration depicts the Joker card as part of a larger series exploring imagined interpretations of a card set. Calder’s accompanying creative text considers the role of the “joker” both within society and as a card, combining contextual reflection with a short story.
These two photographs form part of a series made during travels through Seoul, South Korea, between 2023 and 2024.
The series focuses on ordinary moments through a more intimate, silent, and familiar lens, presenting Seoul as a lived space rather than through the overstimulating clichés often associated with the city. The work explores the poetry of solitude within a densely populated urban environment.
A collection of photographic works spanning four distinct moments and perspectives: coverage, request time is over, living room routine, and callers.
네 개의 서로 다른 순간과 시선을 담은 사진 작업으로, coverage, request time is over, living room routine, callers로 구성되어 있다.
Inspired by the traditional Korean chaekgado (冊架圖), this work reflects the scholarly spirit embedded within paintings of bookshelves and treasured objects, traditionally associated with prosperity, learning, and the desire to benefit the world.
The character “安,” meaning peace or safety, appears within the work as a figure beneath a roof. It expresses the hope that everyone might live safely and peacefully within their own home. The work ultimately carries a wish to correct one’s own heart, contemplate peace in the world, and arrive together beneath a roof of peace.

HMMM is a multidisciplinary art brand that fuses fashion and literature, with each clothing collection directly inspired by an accompanying piece of self-written and illustrated work.
Book With Pictures for Big Baby is a satirical children’s picture book for young adults. It examines the gap between the romanticised promise of young adulthood and the reality of growing up within an increasingly difficult political, social, and physical climate.
Book With Pictures for Big Baby
The frame created over time can eventually become a boundary that confines thought: the standards imposed by society, the standards we create for ourselves, and the gaze of others.
We constantly define and distinguish things, viewing the world from within these frames. Yet while remaining inside them, there are things we fail to see.
This series stands at the edge of that boundary, looking simultaneously within and beyond the frame. Rather than containing something, the frame becomes a space through which time and thought can flow beyond its edges.
Perhaps it is only when we step outside the frame that time begins to move differently, allowing us to see ourselves and the world anew.

This piece captures the subtle vitality of flowers coming to life at dawn, as light gently diffuses into the fading night. Within the soft bleed of colours, the work invites the viewer to feel the quiet beat and gentle resonance of the scene.
One Eyed Jacques is part of an illustration series depicting imagined mythological creatures embodied as anthropomorphised female figures in everyday, slice-of-life settings.
The title references One Eyed Jacks casino from the television series Twin Peaks, with the titular demon girl Jacques lounging among her cartoon companions. The artist’s characters are created intuitively and without a predetermined plan, allowing the monster girls to take on new forms through improvisation, instinct, and playful fashion.
One Eyed Jacques
Drawing on the artist’s British upbringing and four years living in South Korea, this photographic series explores human connection through the contrasting symbolism of the magpie.
In British superstition, a single magpie is an omen of sorrow. In Korea, the magpie (kkachi) represents joy and good news, while its sound echoes gachi, the Korean word for “together.”
Presented in pairs, the photographs contrast the isolation of the solitary British bird with intimate portraits from Korean festivals. The series documents how photography and friendship transformed a foreign landscape into a shared home.

Grandma’s Hallway was painted in watercolour on paper from memory, recalling the details of the artist’s great-grandmother’s home.
Although hallways are usually places of transition, this hallway was a place of gathering: conversations continuing before goodbyes, quiet climbs up the staircase, and the possibility of hearing secrets through closed doors. The space now exists in a state of stasis, preserved through memory and nostalgia.
Grandma’s Hallway
Like a view flickering past a train window, houses, windows, and human figures blur swiftly by. Familiar spaces merge with unfamiliar scenery as the journey moves continuously toward an unknown destination.
Some board the train yearning to leave; others board because they have no choice. The painting captures the moment of leaving the familiar behind—the tension between anxiety and anticipation, and the quiet longing to find a place to rest once more.
A red house, blue sky, and faint figures beyond a window overlap within a single landscape. A house can symbolise permanence, yet it can also become a place one must leave at any moment.
Rather than depicting a real location, the scene becomes an imperfect house constructed from layers of memory and imagination. Repeated lines and colours cling to a fading place, reflecting a gaze held simultaneously toward the home left behind and the new sanctuary yet to be found.
Taken just before this year’s monsoon season, these photographs began when the artist noticed a woman photographing herself during golden hour. Her boyfriend soon ran toward her, and the two began taking selfies and laughing together.
without/you presents the photographs as inseparable parts of a single story. The first image, without, is soft and monochromatic, withholding the full extent of the scene. you introduces colour as the couple reunites, becoming both a “you” to one another and a “you” to the viewer.
The work draws on the French expression la vie reprend des couleurs—literally, “life gets its colour back”—a phrase describing the feeling that things are beginning to look up.
