The size of air conditioning requirement was based on the amount of heat gained in the Drever building. Evidently there was a great need to do away with amount of heat gained during hot period.Air conditioner sizing was be based on heat gain and heat losses in Drever building.
The system implemented was required to have higher efficiencies as compared to other conventional HVAC units that had been employed in the building. The VRF system regulated the cooling by adjusting the rotation of its speed and the compressors which thereby conserve substantial amount of energy. VRF units generally consumed less energy than other conventional temperatures regulation systems.
The following assessment tasks were carried out in Drever Building, Texas for the installation of the VRF system
· The functional and operational requirements of the Drever building was determined by analyzing the cooling load and other load profiles such as location operational hours and the perceived number of occupants in the building that is being used.
· The system modification was done on the number both indoor load profile and outdoor condensing system capacity. The main reason of having building load profile was to determine the outdoor condensing condensing unit capacity.
The VRF gives high energy saving and efficient mechanism. The modern high technology VRF system can serve as many as 48 indoor units while using only one outdoor unit. The compressor allows variations in the distribution of refrigerants to help determine the suction pressure measured by condensing unit.
Almost all problems of planning VRF systems was the requirement of outer air supply for specific unit to meet requirements of American Society of Heating, coolers and air conditioning and constructing codes. Different outside fan and control system were needed for Drever building. During damp seasons, the units are designed to give pre-conditioned air from outside to every inner unit and ensure better air quality
