This poem was inspired by the quest for direction in the midst of a season of waiting...
Still, Faithfully, I Wait
By Shelli Ann
Time goes by so quickly,
Days turn to months and then to years.
I see things change around me.
Confront my hopes, my dreams, my fears.
Some will call it timing,
Others may call it fate.
Though I know not what the future holds,
Still, Faithfully, I Wait.
Things I never really thought about,
Are now at the forefront of my mind.
Goals I didn’t know I had,
Dreams I never imagined would be mine.
Some will call it timing,
Others may call it fate.
Though I know not what the future holds,
Still, Faithfully, I Wait.
I hunger for direction,
Your thoughts, I seek to hear.
I do my best to seek Your guidance,
Yet, at times, the answers seem unclear.
Some will call it timing,
Others may call it fate.
Though I know not what the future holds,
Still, Faithfully, I Wait.
As I look around me,
I can not help but see,
Blessings others take for granted.
Things I'd hoped were meant for me.
Some will call it timing,
Others may call it fate.
Though I know not what the future holds,
Still, Faithfully, I Wait.
As time brings many changes,
I can not help but ask,
Will these dreams I think I want,
Ever truly come to pass?
Some will call it timing,
Others may call it fate.
Though I know not what the future holds,
Still, Faithfully, I Wait.
I know I will face challenges.
There will be times things fall apart.
In the midst of all the struggles,
I hold tight to these desires within my heart.
Some will call it timing,
Others may call it fate.
Though I know not what the future holds,
Still, Faithfully, I Wait.
People tell me to be patient,
But when progress is hard to see,
It often makes me wonder,
Were these dreams really meant for me?
Some will call it timing,
Others may call it fate.
Though I know not what the future holds,
Still, Faithfully, I Wait.
I believe You have a purpose,
Faith tells me that is true.
I may never understand Your plan,
But I know that I can trust in You.
Some will call it timing,
Others may call it fate.
Though I know not what the future holds,
Still, Faithfully, I Wait.
