App Name: Unsent Letters
At Unsent Letters, your privacy is our priority. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data when you use our app. We are committed to protecting your personal information and ensuring that your journal remains private, local, and secure.
By default, we do not collect or store any personal content you write in the app. All letters, emotional tags, and writing history remain on your device only, unless you enable iCloud or device backups through Apple services.
We may collect limited, non-personal data solely to improve the app experience:
App usage data (anonymized): To understand which features are used most.
Crash reports (optional): If enabled via Apple’s analytics, used to improve app stability.
You may optionally provide the following:
User Name / Nickname: Used for personalization (e.g., “Good morning, Elena”).
Favorites and Settings: Stored locally on your device.
None of this data is shared with us or third parties. You may delete it at any time by uninstalling the app.
The following features are fully local and do not transmit data externally:
Writing and editing letters
Vault Mode
Emotional tagging
Favorites
Prompts
Writing streaks
Symbolic actions (Burn, Send to Universe)
If you purchase Premium or other in-app products, payment is processed via the Apple App Store. We do not have access to your payment information. Your purchase status is stored securely using Apple’s system and locally on your device to unlock features.
If you use the optional Get Closure AI feature (Premium only), your selected letter content and tags are temporarily sent to a secure AI service for processing. This data is not stored, logged, or reused. You can choose whether to use this feature.
We do not collect personally identifiable analytics unless you consent via Apple's app tracking transparency (ATT) prompt.
You have the right to:
Access, edit, or delete your data stored locally.
Withdraw consent by disabling permissions or deleting the app.
Contact us regarding any privacy questions.
The app is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect or store data from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in this document and, if significant, communicated in-app.
