Renderers
If you are running UT99 436 (or Unreal 226), it is highly recommended that you apply the '4GB memory aware patch' to avoid out-of-memory crashes. The UT 469 and Unreal 227 patch have already fixed this issue.
You need to use one of the options below to use HD textures.
Unreal and UT99 come with very outdated renderers. By using newer patches like 227 for Unreal and 469 for UT99 you will get some new renderers. Then there is also the optional DX11 renderer that adds some new features.
Some of the HD texture packs offered on this site require the DX11 renderer because they are external DDS textures.
Note: DX11 (D3D11) renderer (v.1.6.1) is not compatible with the 227J or 227K patch for Unreal. The renderer developer is no longer supporting it for newer versions of the OldUnreal patch. The 469 UT99 patch does still work with it. Note: If the DX11 driver is not working In-Game (Visual glitches and the name comes up as "VideoClassDriverName" you need the vcredist 2010 C++ to be installed.
