While you're submitting your bid list, attending training sessions, and completing assignments each day, don't forget to take care of these additional tasks, when applicable.
Once you verify your SF-50, if the service computation date is incorrect, download the forms at this website, complete them, and e-mail them to the HR Service Center at HRSC@state.gov to transfer FERS retirement to the FSO plan.
Each member of a tandem must update their OF-126 to reflect their tandem status via GEMS Self-Service on HR Applications (intranet only). There will be a tandem session during the first few weeks of orientation where this and other tandem-related topics will be covered in detail so don't stress! You do, however, need to complete this step before you get your assignment on Flag Day. See the "After Orientation" section of the website on the Additional Reminders page for more detailed directions.
Your UAB will take up to six weeks to arrive, depending on where it's coming from. Deliveries are typically only available weekdays from 9am to 5pm. If you can, try to plan delivery for a day we are virtual. If you or your spouse are unable to receive it, you can authorize the PCS Lodging vendor to receive it at your apartment, but they will not unpack and remove the cardboard boxes for you.
