A set of exam/tests will be scheduled during the semester each of them comprised of 4 problems 20 points each (worth 80% all together) and 10 conceptual questions (worth 20%). The length of each exam is approximately 1 hour. Incoming tests will be posted in the Announcements section a week before the exam.
Students will work in groups of 3 or 4 to collaborate on weekly Laboratory assignments. Each assignment has to be followed by compiling of a Lab Report that has to be submitted for grading. The report is due 1 week after the Lab activity is performed.

The final exam will be given at the end of the semester. The exam is going to be cumulative (more details will be provided one week before the exam and posted in the Announcements section). Expect 6 problems assigned in the exam and around 20 conceptual questions. Solutions of the problems will account for 85% of the exam grade and the questions - 15%.

1. Explore the course site and get comfortable with its navigation. You may find that some content like Power Point presentations is not available for viewing. This is because the material is authorized to be viewed only by students enrolled in the class. Follow next step.
2. Get a gmail account (if you don't already have one) and take a short survey for the class indicating your gmail address. (Alternatively you can send me an email from your gmail account to borisguru@gmail.com but I need the survey anyway as you can see below.) I will verify your name on the class roster and if found, your google account will be added as a member of the class google group. This will ensure that you will have access to all content posted on the website and will get all notifications I will be sending to the students of the class.
3. Please fill out an introductory survey (if you haven't already done that in the previous step) about why you are taking the class, what your major is, whether you took physics before (specify level like high school, college, etc.), how well you are equipped for the online course, and what are your expectations for the class. This will help me to shape the teaching of the class accordingly.
