Dolls Planet - Golu/Gombe/Bommalu Contest Global Awards is a Sub-division of UNIVERSAL AWARDS.

Here CULTURE MEETS CREATIVITY - Showcasing the annual GOLU/GOMBE/BOMMALU dolls as a Contest. 

As per the Indian tradition, the dolls and figurines are placed on steps stand indicating the spiritual progression of Life, from down to top step.  In Tamil, Kolu or Bommai Golu means divine presence. Similarly, in Telugu, Bommala Koluvu means Court of Toys and in Kannada, Bombe Habba means the Doll festival.The arrangement of the dolls and idols also follows a pattern. If you were keeping a Golu with 9 steps then the first three steps from the top would feature Gods & Goddesses. The next three steps would include idols of saints, enlightened ones and other learned people. The bottom three steps would represent humans and their activities followed by birds & animals.  There is a spiritual connection between the Golu festival and human thinking. The Golu festival, which is a significant part of the Navaratri celebration in South India, is deeply rooted in spirituality and symbolism. 

 In the quest of understanding Life, we started promoting this tradition as a Contest. This brings out the deep-rooted inner talent of all. This Culture enhances and connects communities through Art forms. Thus showcasing this traditional art as a form of Model-making & creativity through spirituality.

People interested in setting dolls during Dasara, are most welcome to participate in our contest and win trophies and/or gift hampers. E-Certificates are given to all participants. The contest is open to all Dasara festival enthusiasts worldwide from all countries. So far we have received enthusiastic participants from all over India(Mumbai, Andhra, TamilNad, Karnataka, Kerala, Pune), USA, UK, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Canada, UAE, Dubai. Our Contest is conducted during the annual Navaratri festival, between the month of September and October.
