In the context of diverse economic, educational, environmental, medical, and social needs, our youth are affected in more than one way.
It is our mission to strengthen, protect, nurture and support our youth to grow into strong, capable, caring, and effective leaders with champion mindsets and winning values to help secure a positive future for Sri Lanka.
They need education, books, resources to study. They need food. They need access to clean water and medicine. They need shelter. They need sanitary wear. They need a fair chance to get good jobs even if they come from places less affluent or from backgrounds near or below subsistence levels.
With your help, UMT can give children and young people across the Nation what we’d want for ourselves and our loved ones.
Food. Water. Medication. Shelter. Support. And a healthy and clean environment to live in. The chance to go to school, get proper career guidance and a real chance at achieving their dreams of a brighter future.
But we can’t do this without the support of caring people like you.
Please join us in our Journey of Love & Care, and give what you can to help children and young people in Sri Lanka impacted by a diverse portfolio of needs.
Monthly gifts help us support more young people across the Nation in different ways. One such way is when monthly donations are diverted into our Emergency Relief Fund that will be deployed in times of emergency crises.
Another significant way in which your contributions will be used is when we deploy resources to support the ongoing work of our youth across our 32 Regional Councils; to support their efforts to build young leaders, help and support communities around them, and work towards uniting, healing and integrating Sri Lanka.
In addition, every month, UMT financially supports selected leaders/members across the Nation for their university studies or for Advanced Level Examination classes. These recipients are carefully selected and supported.
By making a monthly donation to UMT, you will provide young people with ongoing support, relief, education, medicine, shelter, and help support them achieve a brighter, better future.
Unity Mission Trust is a Sri Lankan Non-Profit trust that works towards uniting, healing and integrating the youth of the Nation by nurturing mindsets, enhancing personal leadership capacities, building lasting bridges of inter-cultural/ethnic friendships and developing young leaders for the future of Sri Lanka. We work towards preventing another civil war, racism, and cultural/religious/ethnic intollerance so that our youth may have a peaceful and prosperous future.
By choosing to give a regular donation, you will be helping UMT to plan ahead and invest in long-term projects to foster inter-cummunal and inter-cultural tolerance and harmony, build lasting bridges of cross-cultural friendships, support the education of children across Sri Lanka impacted by various adverse circumstances and poverty, as well as to prepare for emergency relief.
Faster help: Monthly donations allow UMT to respond to emergencies when a crisis occurs. Your gift can go where it's most needed.
Support of long-term operations: More predictable income helps UMT go beyond short-term emergency aid and provide our Regional Teams with ongoing support to facilitate their work focused on empowering young children, supporting cross-cultural and cross-provincial communities, unity, integration and healing.
Easy to donate: To set up a recurring donation, please contact our Founder, Bertal Pinto-Jayawardena at +94 76 604 3913 or bertal@unitymission.lk for more information on how this can be arranged.
Your money helps UMT provide education, relief aid, leadership training, and other forms of assistance and advocacy on behalf of the youth of our Nation. UMT volunteers work as closely as possible with and for young people from every corner of the island, with all our youth leaders working not only in regional capacities, but regularly collaborating on cross-regional, cross-provincial and cross-national capacities as well. Our work is 90% on the field. To stay up-to-date with the extent of our work, read our UMT Spotlight Newsletter.
