The spread of COVID-19 has had a devastating impact on youth as well as the residentially and financially challenged population, creating an additional stress in their lives. Hygiene is an essential part of one's quality of life and should not be a necessity that we worry about, especially during a widespread pandemic. By recognizing the growing inaccessibility to these products, the team at United for Justice applied for a $750 grant from Rising Youth to fund care packages for our initiative. We used the grants and community donations to buy vital products such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoos, and conditioners to donate to the Salvation Army Queen Youth Shelter. With the coronavirus taking its toll on the world and consequently, on the mental and physical health of many, we hope to reduce the stress in any way we can.
