SIGN THE CODE OF CONDUCT
THE PERIOD TO SIGN THE CODE OF CONDUCT FOR THE 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR WILL BE OPEN
SEPT 20TH - OCT 13TH, 2023.
The Code of Conduct form will be done on PAPER for the 23-24 school year. Swing by room 1159, 1163, or 2157 to grab a Code of Conduct form. This form must be signed by the student, and a parent or guardian and returned by OCTOBER 13TH (don't forget you also have to pay dues).
LATE FORMS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
DATES TO SIGN THE COC: SEPTEMBER 20TH - OCTOBER 13TH 2023.
*Students MUST pay dues AND sign the Code of Conduct to be considered a member of NHS. Failure to pay dues OR sign the Code of Conduct within the allotted time frame will prohibit you from being a member of NHS . No exceptions.
National Honor Society holds its members to high standards, imploring them to uphold the promises they made upon their induction. Club members who fall below the standards set by NHS are subject to probation, and if the situation is not amended, dismissal from the Society, pending a hearing. If a student’s probationary period occurs during their final semester of high school, the student may walk at graduation without the NHS stole.
Membership is dependent upon:
1. Scholarship: your cumulative GPA must remain at an unweighted 3.25 or higher
a. Probationary criteria: GPA lower than 3.25 at the end of the semester.
2. Service: completion of a required number of service hours each semester, and appropriate documentation of those hours, failure to sign the Code of Conduct or failure to pay dues.
a. Probationary criteria: Failing to meet service hour requirements.
3. Leadership: Consistent attendance at NHS meetings and required functions
a. Probationary criteria: Failure to attend 3 or more meetings or required functions.
4. Character: A clean discipline record in school and the community.
a. Probationary criteria: Detention, In-School-Suspension, Out-of School Suspension, extenuating or self-incriminating criminal circumstances.
The main goal is not to punish club members, but it is to remind you that your acceptance into this club was based on your scholarship, your character, your leadership, and your service as voted by your teachers. You worked hard to attain this honor, you need to continue working hard to keep it. Success does not come to those who are complacent.
