Greeting

Hello, Neighbor!

Have students walk around. When you say "stop," have them do this greeting with someone near them. 

Hello neighbor (wave to each other)
What do you say?
It's going to be a happy day!
Greet your neighbor (handshake)
Boogie on down (twist hips)
Give a bump (bump hips together)
And turn around! (turn in a circle)

Who do we appreciate?

Have students sit in a circle. Choose one student to start:

2,4,6,8
Who do we appreciate?!
_____, _____, YAAAAY _____!

Optional: Chosen student runs around inner circle giving high fives to each student until the get back to their spot.

Hit the Floor!

Each student will do a little dance when their name is called.
Optional - allow students to step into the middle of the circle when it is their turn to dance!

1, 2, 3, 4! Come on _______ hit the floor! We're so glad you're here today, hooray, hooray, hooray! 

Knock Knock!

Can be done whole group or in pairs if you need a faster greeting!

Student 1: Knock knock!
All: Who's there?!
Student 1: (says first name)
All: (first name) who?
Student 1: (says first and last name)
All: Good morning (repeats first and last name)
