The children's service under community support for families is established to promote ways to support families, by providing them with various programs. These programs consist of assistance for children with severe disabilities benefits and special services provided at home as well. The website highlights a fund called the Assistance for Children with Severe Disabilities Benefit (ACSD).It includes funding that is granted every month which is based on family size, income and the total yearly expenses of the child’s condition. This service also highlights another benefit called Special Services at Home Benefit (SSAH) which is collaborated by Ministry of Children and Youth Service program, providing funding to purchase supports for children who have a developmental disability. This funding also provides for parental relief and one-to one support for the child and parent. Developmental Disabilities Association(DDA) is a local non-profit organization that provides over 50 community-based programs and services to children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families. This organization has many programs that is targeted for infants, youth children and adults. There’s one specific program that is called family support group which includes respite services where they arrange for a caregiver to take care of the child with a developmental disability, providing support and an extra pair of hands.
