Thomas came to UNCW from Merck & Co. Inc., where he held the position of Director - Structure Elucidation Lead and was responsible for providing scientific leadership while managing a team of ~28 Ph.D. and M.S. specialists across the US.  Thomas has over 15 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry and has published over 100 peer-reviewed publications.  He has co-chaired technical conferences and has been invited to provide multiple lectures locally and globally. He holds a Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry from Oregon State University and an M.S. Degree in Organic Chemistry from UNCW.

In addition to enjoying structure elucidation, Thomas loves to spend time in the outdoors, boating and fishing with friends and family.
