This summer school is an international learning and collaboration program focused on medical informatics, artificial intelligence, and digital health. It brings together students, researchers, and professionals from Mexico and Germany to explore how AI can improve healthcare through hands-on learning, workshops, and networking.
The program is designed for:
Advanced undergraduate and graduate students in health, engineering, computer science, data science, or related fields.
Medical professionals interested in digital transformation.
Researchers and early-career professionals from Mexico and Germany.
It’s a hybrid program:
In-person activities will take place exclusively in Mexico City, hosted at IIMAS–UNAM.
Meanwhile, the virtual sessions enable remote participation for students and speakers from both Mexico and Germany, as well as anyone around the world who is interested in the topic.
The summer school will take place in August 2025 25 to 29, 2025 (Monday to Friday).
As this is a hybrid event with international participants, please be mindful of your local time zone when attending virtual sessions. The full program is available for download here. 👉 Download Full Program

Absolutely! The school is interdisciplinary. We welcome participants from medical, technical, and social science backgrounds.
We want to emphasize that no prior programming experience is required to join this course, just a genuine interest in the intersection of health and artificial intelligence.
Please note: this course is not designed to teach programming from scratch. Instead, you'll explore how digital tools and AI concepts are applied in healthcare through guided, hands-on activities.
To fully participate, you’ll need:
