Current Development of AI
The media is ladened with enormous function as the watch-dog of the society within and globally. Over the last decade, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become gradually more prevalent in mass media and news agency newsrooms (Noain-Sánchez, A., 2022).
The integration of the Internet in the media has contributed to the emergence of several new types of journalism, such as Robot Journalism, Drone Journalism, Data Science Journalism, etc. Formation of news materials, their attractiveness to the audience and the diversity of the fast dissemination ways of these materials in the society depend, first of all, on the development of advanced information technologies. According to Sanbul (2022), the expansion of journalism based on advanced information technologies along with traditional journalism, the use of data mining, big data, and artificial intelligence in journalism have created new opportunities in this area. Although journalism of artificial intelligence ensures the requirements of the modern world and successfully solves the problems of the safety of journalists, the rapid collection and dissemination of information, it also has its drawbacks. The fact that journalism of artificial intelligence is far from the emotionality of the news transmitted, as well as the dynamic changes and excessive volumes of the news, indicate the change to be observed in the attitude of readers towards this news in the future.
The Future of AI in the Media
AI journalism enables computer software to generate news articles. Stories are generated automatically by computers rather than human reporters using artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. These programs interpret, organize, and present data in ways that are understandable to humans. An algorithm reads vast amounts of provided data, chooses from a set of pre-programmed article structures, arranges key points, and inserts details such as names, places, amounts, rankings, statistics, and other statistics. Siddhart S.,et al(2022).
As AI continues to evolve and play a larger role in journalism, it is clear that the future of newsrooms and journalism education will be shaped by this technology. In newsrooms, AI has the potential to automate many routine and repetitive tasks, freeing up human journalists to focus on more creative and strategic work. This could lead to a more efficient and effective newsroom, where human and machine collaborate to produce better content.
