A)      Zero Tolerance Rules

 What happens if you drink on the job?

1.       Employees or Staff; Immediate Termination

2.       Group Member; 2 year Suspension of the Group

3.       Underage; Above, and Police will be called

B)  2 Drinks Per Person

 1.       Max two beers go over the counter to one person who is of legal drinking age

2.       Max 2 Drinks per ID

3.       Each sale of up to 2 drinks per person must be accompanied by the guest with ID.  One person may pay for all drinks, but all consumers of alcohol must be present for the transaction.

4. Guests may not possess more than 2 drinks per person at a time.  Guests must finish prior purchases before being allowed to purchase more (or can only have one if they still have one).

1. Check the Photograph- Verify it is the person presenting the ID

2. Verify the Expiration Date

3. Verify the Birthdate, Sex, Height and Weight

4. Magic Year: 2005

 F)   WE DO NOT ACCEPT VERTICAL STATE IDS

Even if guests are from out of state, they are in Maryland and must abide by Maryland’s alcohol sale rules.  Not all states immediately provide horizontal IDs upon reaching drinking age, but we are unable to serve guests with vertical IDS with the exception of Military IDs.

1.       Military ID’s are acceptable; DOB is on the back of the card

G) The Five Acceptable Forms of ID:

1.       Passport or Passport Card

American passports must be verified by a Police Officer OR ABC OFFICER OR Stand Manager and Foreign passports must be verified by ABC OFFICERS ONLY

2.       United States Permanent Resident Card

Must be verified by a Police Officer OR ABC OFFICER! NEVER CHECK THESE YOURSELF!

3.       United States Military ID

4.       U.S. State or U.S. Territory-issued Photo Identification Card

5.       U.S. State or U.S. Territory-issued Driver’s License

Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands and Guam are territories of the United States!  Canadian Provinces are NOT!

H) Never Accept:

1. EXPIRED IDS

2. IDS WITH HOLES IN THEM

3. TEMPORARY PAPER PERMITS

4. FOREIGN IDS BESIDES PASSPORTS

5. PICTURES OF ID’S

6. DIGITAL IDS

What do you do if you find a fake id?

1.       Do not make physical contact with the customer.

2.       KEEP THE ID! Ask customer to stand to the side and tell them they may have it back after a Police Officer checks it.

3.       Turn all questionable ID’s into the Police.

I)        NEED TO KNOW:

1.       ALCOHOL SALES CUT-OFF TIMES

Even if a customer is standing in line, no alcohol sales are possible after these cut offs!

2.       DRINKS MUST BE OPENED

All drinks must be handed to customers OPEN. This means:

Draft Beer: Served in open cup without lid

Beer Cans with Screw-Top: cap removed and thrown away before handing to customer

Beer Cans with Tab: can opened before handing to customer

Wine: Bottle opened and poured into a wine cup, empty bottle recycled

We cannot give customers cups and lids for alcoholic beverages

 J)        ABC Officer = Alcohol Beverage Control Officer

1. ABC Officers should be radioed for all alcohol related problems or questions.
