The SLB Autis Laboratorium is well-equipped with a range of modern teaching tools. Each classroom is outfitted with a projector, and the school also provides laptops, speakers, and microphones to support various learning activities. Instructional materials are thoughtfully prepared by the teachers before each lesson, ensuring that students have access to tailored resources that enhance their learning experience.
During my 28-days internship at the SLB Autis Laboratory at Universitas Negeri Malang, I observed a unique and engaging weekly schedule for the students. Once a month, the school organizes a one week outdoor activity, and during my time there, I had the chance to see several of these in action.
For three days, the students participated in a step-by-step gardening activity, where they learned the basics of planting plants. On the fourth day, the program shifted to physical activities, including dancing and walking around the campus, followed by watching movies together. On the fifth day, the students went to the zoo, offering them a chance to explore and interact with animals.
On regular school days, students had a 30-minute break from 9:00 to 9:30 AM, during which they could play outside the classroom. Additionally, every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, the students engaged in physical activities like dancing and walking before the classes began.
