Rubber cutting
Cutting tamplate
To help with the grip and to increase immersion adapter has be been designed to accommodate regular table tennis rubber.
In the box with adapter you will find plastic template which has exact shape as the rubber required to cover both sides of the bat area. Using it to trace the shape on the rubber with marker should help with the cutting process. Alternatively use it directly with hobby knife to cut the rubber into shape.
Update: In the box now along with template you will find thin double sided glue strips pre-cut to required size.
Its currently best to use thin double sided tape to apply the rubber to adapter. This will allow to relatively cleanly remove and replace when required. Rubber can be permanently glued to the surface with super glue but it will be messy when trying to remove it in the future.
Unfortunately regular TT speed glue does not work at all with the lightweight PLA. Still, I didn't try all available regular TT glues so I'm not sure if they will work or not. Feel free to let me know your results.
Tip: Template has a little lip on the bottom. Use it to align it with the bottom line of the rubber.
Notes: If preferable other solution can be used to cover bat area. Other rubber sheets and foams can be used instead. Feel free to experiment to find ideal surface feel for yourself.
