An Aether Wand capable of outputting raw but weak magic and an Aether Orb that defines the traits/effects of the magic displayed.
Great feats can be performed with the unfortunate price of life force.
Ordinarily, the wand will drain your XP as a power source but if you have an insufficient amount (less than 1 level) it will begin to consume your health.
Orbs are to be kept in the off-hand slot when using the Aether Wand
A special ore found in the Ulterlands. Its magical properties serve as the foundation for all Aether Magic.

When in the off-hand slot,
All magic bolts from the Aether Wand will summon twin lightning strikes (if contact with an entity is made).
When in the off-hand slot,
All magic bolts from the Aether Wand will heal 10HP (if contact with an entity is made).
When in the off-hand slot,
All magic bolts from the Aether Wand will apply the effects: Blindness, Weakness and Slowness (if contact with an entity is made).
When in the off-hand slot,
All magic bolts from the Aether Wand will spawn 2 Osteons to protect you (from the ground where the bolt lands).
When in the off-hand slot,
All magic bolts from the Aether Wand will cause the target to float upwards and apply the effect "Inferno" (if contact with an entity is made).
