January - On January 21st, we hosted the Eighth Irish SIAM Student Chapter Conference on our campus, with two keynotes and several student presentations.

September - Our first Careers in Mathematics Evening was held on September 30th, where we were joined by Accenture. For more information on Accenture, and the careers they offer , please see https://www.accenture.com/ie-en/careers.

November - Our first Careers in Mathematics Evening was held on October 13th, kindly presented by Accenture.

October - Another Careers in Mathematics Evening was held on October 15th, with two representatives from Accenture presenting on career opportunities and how to prepare for them, followed by a networking session.

January - On January 18th, we organized the Fifth Irish SIAM Student Chapter Conference on our campus, with two keynotes and several presentations of students from Ireland and UK. For a more detailed coverage of the event, please be sure to check the SIAM News post or our Twitter account.

July - Our secretary Niall McInerney represented the chapter at the 2018 SIAM Annual Meeting in Portland, Oregon.

June - The chapter, together with MACSI, hosted a Student Mathematical Modelling Workshop from June 5th-8th. Please see here for more information.

April - On April 16th we hosted a presentation by Dr Jonas Bæklund of AMCS, a Limerick-based waste and recycling management software firm, giving an overview of their work and job opportunities for university graduates.

November - Our second Careers in Mathematics Evening was held on November 8th, kindly sponsored by CPL Recruitment.

July - Our treasurer Gary O'Keeffe represented the chapter at the 2017 SIAM Annual Meeting in Pittsburgh. To read more on Gary's thoughts on receiving funding for travel see here.

April - We held a Careers in Mathematics Evening on April 19th to provide undergraduate and postgraduate mathematics students with information regarding careers in academia, industry, and teaching. A representative from CPL Recruitment also gave advice on CV and interview preparation.

December - On December 7th the chapter hosted the 3rd Irish SIAM Student Chapter Conference.
