Random Pairs

Random Pairs racing is a form of Team Racing which allows for individual entries.

Teams comprise two boats (last boat loses) and participants are paired on a random basis with other competitors. The winner is the helm with the least number of losses.

The effect is to produce some very intense yet friendly racing. It is intense because of the two boat format which means that slowing one boat is all that is needed to win the race. It is friendly because you could be paired with your opponent in the next race, so it is not a good idea to be totally inhospitable to them.

Schedules in the form of downloadable excel spreadsheets are provided here for events with 8-20 participants. There is also a compressed file giving schedules for up to 50 participants.
