Tips, Techniques, and Other Information
Three Questions to When 3D Modeling to Print.
Is my model closed?
With your model selected type Volume in the command line. If calculable then its good to go. Otherwise you'll see the messages "Some of the objects are not closed." This likely means your object is non-manifold. See this in depth walkthrough for trouble shooting this issue.
Do you have interior spaces in your model?
Our 3d printers struggle with printing walls thinner than 1m-3mm depending on the angle of the building. Please consider your interior wall thickness prior to scaling your objects or during your modeling process if you plan on 3D printing.
Will my model fit in the machine work area?
Make sure to cross check our Machine build volumes prior to submitting a file 3D print file.
3D Printing Tips:
Do not make walls or columns of any kind thinner than 1mm. Details smaller than this may not be fabricated well by the printers. Always double check your scaled down model prior to submitting
Make sure your 3D objects are Closed polysurfaces or closed meshes.
Make sure you Boolean Union any overlapping solid objects I your submissions. Just grouping objects together will lead to further issues down the road.
