FabLab Open Hours Schedule: (Updated 08/19/26)

The equipment is unavailble unavailable at the moment unless scheduled in advance. Speak to Christian for more information. Open hours will likely begin 9/14/26. See Calendar below

FabLab Calendar, Fall 2026:

August 24th

• FabLab is closed for orientations, authorizations, and equipment workshops until September Sept 14th

• Online Mandatory Authorizations + Participation Waiver are now open until September 14th

• FabLab Job Application Opens

September 2nd:

• FabLab Student Worker Application Close by next day.

September 14th:

• Online Mandatory Authorization + Participation Waiver closes @ 4:00pm

• FabLab Open Hours Begin, see website for weekly updates.

November 23rd

• Tentative 3D Printing Submission Queue Closed, by 12:00pm

November 25-27th:

• Lab Closed for Thanksgiving Holiday, reopens Monday Dec 30th

December 4th

• Finals week limited lab open hours begin

December 10th:

• FabLab Closed for Winter Break

Lab Introductions and Authorizations:

The 2026 Fall FabLab Authorization and Safety Waiver is now available. Estimated 15 mins to complete. All students eligible to use the FabLab will need to complete this authorization within the Authorization window or risk losing access for the semester.

Monday         10am - 12PM APPOINTMENT ONLY

           2pm - 8pm Open Hours

Tuesday         2pm - 8pm Open Hours

Wednesday     10am - 12PM APPOINTMENT ONLY

      2pm - 8pm Open Hours

Thursday          2pm - 8pm Open Hours

Friday               10am - 12PM APPOINTMENT ONLY

                          2pm - 6pm Open Hours

Lab Engagement

Students who have not done their Project Lab Safety orientation will not be able to utilize the Project Lab.

During open hours Lab capacity will be based on available staff and strictly enforced at a 5:1 ratio with a 15 student maximum

If you have a large studio, please check in with us about your plans that involve the Project Lab so we can provide the smoothest possible experience for you and the students.

This can include, but is not limited to generating samples or proofs of concept using vetted processes.

Swipe Card Access

If you are having trouble accessing the lab via I-card swipe reader please contact the senior lab specialist with your UIN. 

Class Appointments

If you as an instructor would like to reserve dedicated time in the Lab, it can be arranged on a case by case basis. This could be for demonstration, special instruction or dedicated work time for your class.

This time can be arranged during the appointment only period or during open hours. Instructors must be present in the Lab for group reservations. Reach out to the senior lab specialist to arrange.
