Make an appointment with you advisor
Let them know you want to change/add/remove major or minor
Receive a form to fill out
Ask them which number to check and when the petition list closes for the semester
Return it to the advisor and follow up with them on the status of the petition
Once petition is accepted and declared it will show up on your transcripts

Most advising appointments will take place via the advisor emailing you, if you have questions that are harder to relate through an email you can request to speak to the advisor via phone or video chat.
Be prepared to take the initiative in finding answers to questions and in planning your professional careers
Alert the advisor to uncertainties you may have about program requirements, normal progress, and performance expectations.
