BU Minority Grad Student Survival Guide

Hello and welcome to Boston University

from the Underrepresented Graduate Student Organization (UGSO)!

We know how hard it is to transition to a new city or new school, especially as a minority student. Where do you even start? This website is a work-in-progress intended to help new students at BU who identify as underrepresented in higher education (typically Black, Latinx, or Native/Indigenous, but not limited to those identities). It has resources and information about living and learning at Boston University and in the greater Boston community, catered for marginalized people with particular cultural practices and needs. Advice and opinions found here are solely those of the authors (current UGSO members) and are intended to be a general guide map, not the official opinion of all UGSO members, all minority graduate students, or all of BU. The page will be continuously compiled and updated.

If you'd like to contribute your advice or resources, please email ugsoBU@gmail.com. We'd love to incorporate your ideas.

THE INFORMATION ON THESE PAGES ARE A COMBINATION OF RESOURCES REPRODUCED FROM THIS WEBSITE AND ORIGINAL CONTENT. A special thank you to the BU Student Association of Graduate Engineers.
