INFORMATION
Special Note from the Organizers: Let's bring back the fun in mountain bike racing. THIS IS A GRASSROOTS COMMUNITY-LEVEL FUN RACE EVENT FOR A CAUSE. There might be no Major prizes involved. Any excess amount raised from race entries will be given to our subject charity (a fellow rider battling cancer).

Parking: Kindly park and camp only in the designated areas, as shown on the Map.
Toilet: No Toilet and changing facilities on-site.

ELIGIBILITY
The race is open to anyone, as long as he/she is on a Mountain Bike. (for as long as he/she belongs to the age groups mentioned in the category section below.)
Due to the technical nature of the route, Newbies/Beginner mountain bikers should consider testing the trail before registering for this race.
RIDER'S EQUIPMENT
Mountain Bike only (Flat/Riser handlebars only, no Drop Bars, no Aero Bars)
There will be no wheel size restriction. Wheel sizes 24, 26'er, 650b or 27.5, 27.5+, 29'er, 29+, and Fat wheels are all allowed, as long as the tire width is NOT Narrower than 1.5 inches or 38c and should have threads or knobs. (Skinny, Sand Tires, Slick Tires, Semi-Slick, and Street Tires will NOT be allowed for this race).
HELMET should be worn at all times while competing. Not wearing a helmet while racing will result in Disqualification.
The trail is technical. Make sure that your bike is in top condition for the race.
Race numbers MUST be attached to the Handlebar and must be visible at all times when racing.
RACE TYPE & RACE COURSE
This will be a Hybrid Race Setup with a combination of an XC Lap Race and an Enduro Time Trial (single stage)
FOR XC BIKE CATEGORIES (Limit: 80 Participants)
The race will be an XC fixed lap race where participants start in a LeMan-style mass start (run & mount the bike) and must complete the required number of laps at the fastest possible time (Required: 2 Laps x 6km).
The race will take place on a 6 KM off-road track that features an off-road terrain of mixed flats, sandpits, natural & artificial obstacles, climbs, technical descents, Rockies, wooden bridges, drops, ramps, single track, and berms.
FOR ENDURO BIKE CATEGORIES (Limit: 40 Starters)
The race will be an Individual Time Trial race where competing riders will be released one after another in a fixed interval. (The first Start and the time interval will be determined on race day.)
Riders must navigate the 3.8 Km technical trail that features an off-road terrain of mixed flats, sandpits, natural & artificial obstacles, technical descents, Rockies, wooden bridges, drops, ramps, single track, and berms. The rider with the fastest time to complete the course will win the race.
Sharp Stones, Drops, Off-camber Turns, and Construction debris are known hazards on this trail.
The race course is rideable by experienced riders. It might be too technical for new riders, especially those who have just started mountain biking. Compete only when you are prepared and practiced with this kind of route. TRACK READING IS A MUST IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST TIME JOINING A MOUNTAIN BIKE RACE.
Route familiarization is under the responsibility of the competing rider. Track reading should be done in advance and not during when a race is going on. As a courtesy to your fellow riders, please AVOID TRACK READING while any race is in progress.
Any competing riders incorrectly navigating the route (wrong turns or who become disoriented) must return to the point they departed and re-enter the course at that point to avoid disqualification.

Camp Banayad MTB Race Categories & Lap Requirements
Participants will be divided into age groups according to which bikes they will use on the race and by gender.
The minimum age allowed to compete is 16 years old (except for National Cadet Riders)
Minors below 18 must have any of their parents or guardians present during the race event to compete.
A minimum of 5 competing riders per category is required to award a podium. Categories with low participation numbers will be combined at the organizer's discretion.
XC Bike Categories: Participants must compete using XC (Cross Country Bikes) with 80 to 120mm Front Travel.
Enduro Bike Categories: Participants must compete using All Mountain/Enduro/DH Bikes with 120mm and above Front Travel.

XC Bikes U40 (39 & Below) - 2 Laps
XC Bikes Masters (40-49) - 2 Laps
XC Bikes Veterans (50+) - 2 Laps
XC Bikes Women (19 & Up) - 2 Laps
Enduro Bikes U40 (39 & Below) - Single Stage TT
Enduro Bikes Masters (40+) - Single Stage TT
Enduro Bikes Women (19 & Up) - Single Stage TT
** This event is not recommended for Beginner Riders.**
Whenever "Chicken Line" markers are on the route, XC Bikes participants should choose these options.
FEED & TECHNICAL ZONE, SAFETY
Field Marshals will be strategically posted on the race-course and available to assist riders while the race is ongoing.
Drinking Water (Sponsored by Rayyan Water) will be available after the finish line.
Technical and Mechanical Support (if any) will be located near the start area.
PLEASE RIDE SAFELY! - No Ambulance on Site. But we will have standby First Aiders and Volunteer Nurses.

RIDER'S CONDUCT
All riders should allow faster riders to pass.
Course familiarization is the rider's responsibility.
Unsportsmanlike conduct is subject to disqualification. Be friendly to everyone, and be courteous and respectful to race officials, volunteers, and fellow competitors.
Do not litter on or off the course.
GROUNDS FOR DISQUALIFICATIONS
Unsportsmanlike manners.
Disrespect towards race organizers, officials, volunteers & co-competitors.
Littering
Unfair advantages (shortcuts)
Not wearing of helmet or removal of helmer while competing.
Wrong positioning of timing chip (no reading)
Unreadable race numbers due to incorrect position (must be attached to the handlebar)
APPEALS & PROTESTS
When you appeal or file for a protest, sufficient information or proof is needed.
Pre-announcements of Top competitors will be made once the final rider crosses the finish.
Protests and appeals can be accepted while the result is not yet broadcast.
An Appeal fee of 50 QR should be paid if you want to contest the result before it's posted online.
Any appeals made after the Final Results are posted online will be nullified.
REGISTRATION

Individual persons who wish to join the race need to Pre-Register online.
Online Registration is open UNTIL 01:00 PM on October 17.
Late / On-Site Registration is subject to availability and will be charged with a higher entry fee.

RACE DAY SIGN-ON
Sign On starts at 05:00 AM
Show proof of identity before claiming your race kits. You will be required to deposit your QID or Driver's License in exchange for your timing chip.
The use of another rider's entry is not allowed.
To make everything work smoothly
Know your race number in advance by checking the Start List (see below)
You can only sign on for yourself and collect your own race number & timing chip.
Your race number should be visible and positioned on your handlebar. Your timing chip is positioned on the non-disc side of the fork.
CHIP TIMING
This race will be chipped-timed. We have a limit of 160 Chips for use.
The allocation of the Timing Chips will be on a "First in online registration, First served" basis.
Due to the limited availability of timing chips, We will also limit the number of registrations.
Register only if you are sure that you will be able to attend the race. WE BAN "No Show" riders.
DISCLAIMER
If you join the racing event, you understand the risk of joining off-road cycling activities.
You understand that an Ambulance is not readily available and that the emergency response can take time in any case of an accident.
You understand that the organizers, officials, volunteers, and your co-competitor won't be liable for any accident that may occur and may happen to you during this event.
