The National Anthem of the United Friends of America ("Mountains and Valleys") should be performed within the Charter Arts Governate on various occasions. If possible, a performance of the national anthem should take place in a conspicuous location, ideally near an Americonian flag, and as many Americonian citizens as possible should be invited to listen.Â
Either one verse of the national anthem or all three verses (or, if necessary, the first and last verses) should be performed unless otherwise specified by this or another enactment. Barring further specification, the performance may be a cappella (vocal only), instrumental, or combined vocal and instrumental. Citizens may be encouraged to sing along if they know the words. The performer of the national anthem may be a non-citizen of the United Friends of America.
Any elected government officials present during a performance of the national anthem should render the Americonian salute, while other citizens should stand at attention. Non-citizens may also stand at attention. If possible, all spectators should face towards an Americonian flag.
If, for any reason, multiple national anthems (or other songs of ceremonial significance) are to be performed concurrently, the Americonian national anthem should be performed first if the anthems are performed at the beginning of an event, or last if the anthems are performed at the end of an event, unless there is a specific reason to deviate from this policy.
The national anthem should be performed on the birthday of the sitting Governor of Charter Arts. This may be immediately followed by a rendition of "Happy Birthday".
The national anthem may be performed on the birthday of any government official at their request if they attend Charter Arts, followed by a rendition of "Happy Birthday" if desired.
The national anthem should be performed on April 22 (Constitution Day), June 5 (Battle of Unami Creek Rememberance Day), and October 30 (Anniversary of the Devolution and Governance Act). All three verses should be performed.
The national anthem should be performed on the first and last days of the school year.
The national anthem should be performed during the last period of the last Friday of each month. If that Friday falls on a non-school day, the performance of the national anthem may be skipped.
Should any other nation perform a state visit within the territory of Charter Arts, the national anthems of both countries shall be performed instrumentally.
The national anthem may be performed before any game, challenge, competition, or sporting event, at the discretion of the organizers.
Signed, Auden P. Watts, Governor of Charter Arts
In accordance with the status of the Americonian token as the national currency of the United Friends of America, the token is to be used as the currency of the Charter Arts Governate. Any government officials participating in business within the Charter Arts Governate are instructed to use the Americonian token as their primary currency. The Charter Arts Governate will work to distribute tokens to citizens who have none and will facilitate the UBI program as outlined by the Provisions for the Establishment of a Universal Basic Income.
