To continually explore better opportunities to enhance instruction, research, extension and production through linkages that will optimize utilization of resources of both government and non-government institutions.
OBJECTIVES
To expand the human resource development by producing necessary learning & development to faculty and staff.
To enrich student development through enhancing academic programs.
To rationalize the university’s financial expenditures
To improve the physical resources necessary and available to support the university fulfill its programs, project and activities
To develop research, development and extension programs toward poverty reduction through food security, environment, livelihood and employment

The UEP Seal
Blue and Gold Colors – the University colors symbolize the lofty ideals of the institution and the golden dreams of the youth.
Wheel – symbolizes the unending search for knowledge.
Lamp – symbolic of the light that education brings.
Sun’s Eight Rays – indicate Region 8 (Eastern Visayas), the immediate service area of the University.
The words Instruction, Research, Extension, Production – refer to the quadruple functions of the University.
The year 1918 – the establishment of the institution as the Catarman Farm School which later became the Catarman National Agricultural High School (CNAHS).
The year 1956 – the establishment of the Samar Institute of Technology (SIT) and the abolition of CANHS on June 14, 1956 by virtue of Republic Act 1434.The year 1964 – the conversion of SIT into the University of Eastern Philippines (UEP) on June 20, 1964 by virtue of Republic Act 4126.
