Passports: Apassport with at least two blank pages and six months validity is required to enter Kenya.
Visa: Purchase your visa online ahead of time. It’ll make your arrival in Nairobi faster and easier. You can purchase it here. The process isn't the most intuitive and you have to go back in after a bit to see if it was granted. Make sure you print it and take it in your carry on - not in your checked luggage!
Vaccinations: Start here to gather information about vaccinations and also make an appointment with your doctor or the travel nurse for your health care provider right away. Some vaccinations need to be given several times over a period of time. We also recommend taking anti-malaria medication. Talk to your doctor about this. We encourage you to find out from your health care providers what the cost for vaccinations will cost - depending on your insurance, the vaccines can be expensive and you may want to space them out.
The Government of Kenya requires proof of yellow fever vaccination for travelers who are arriving from a country with risk of yellow fever. If you have a stamp in your passport from any country that has yellow fever, get the vaccination.
Other: We strongly recommend supplemental insurance to cover medical evacuation. I purchase this through my home insurance plan.
