UConn iGEM offers a fall semester crash course training in which groups of trainees will be guided through basics in synthetic biology protocols. In the spring, we offer a semester long weekly training where members will complete a small-scale genetic engineering project learning about lab techniques in depth with the help of student instructors. The goal of these trainings is to give members an introduction to genetic engineering and common synthetic biology workflows utilized in research.
