Dr. Fox has worked in higher education since 2001. Through two consecutive grants from the UniHealth Foundation Dr. Fox developed and published a unique four-year integrated POCUS curriculum for UCI medical students, making UCI the second medical school in the United States and the first on the west coast to fully integrate ultrasound into medical education. The curriculum he developed has been emulated and repurposed at over thirty medical schools throughout the nation. Dr. Fox is a Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine and is the Chair of the UCI Department of Emergency Medicine. He has received a focused practiced designation in advanced emergency ultrasound and is a registered diagnostic medical sonographer. Since joining the faculty at UCI, Dr. Fox has reviewed over 100,000 emergency ultrasound scans and trained 40 fellows in emergency ultrasound.

Dr. Guy has completed her residency in emergency medicine at UCLA-Harbor and her ultrasound fellowship at UCI where she holds the position of Assistant Clinical Professor and Associate ultrasound fellowship director.

Dr. Hsu has completed his residency in emergency medicine in Mount Sinai St Luke's-Roosevelt. He is fellowship trained in both ultrasound and medical simulation and acts as the UCI emergency department Ultrasound Director and the UCI Medical School Director of Ultrasound Medical Education.
Nora Perez-Moreno and Brenda Nash are experienced sonographers and served as the previous course coordinators for the Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Elective (627A) course. Both graduated at the top of their class with honors and received their Associate in Science degrees from Orange Coast College in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. They have extensive clinical experience working at hospitals within Orange County including Hoag, Kaiser, and West Anaheim Medical Center. They are both passionate about addressing social determinants of health and improving patient care, as they believe that ultrasound is a tool that has the potential to bridge health disparity gaps. To further the University of California Irvine’s mission of diversity, equity and inclusion, they sought out training from the UCI Health Affairs Office of Education and received their certificates in Health Equity and Diversity.
