Point-of-care Ultrasound Learning and Scanning Experience

Next Conference Date: TBA Summer 2024

The goal of this event is to give you hands on practice with multiple modalities of point of care ultrasound tailored to your healthcare field.

Course

The University of California, Irvine (UCI) Ultrasound Workshop is a one day ultrasound seminar tailored for your point of care ultrasound (POCUS) education. It was designed to maximize your hands-on experience with high-yield topics geared toward focused diagnostic applications for your specialty.

Didactics, demonstrations, and case examples will be incorporated into your hands-on training for the best representation of pathologies you may not see in your models. The course is designed with the learner's experience in mind, with low participant-to-instructor ratios to allow for practice time to give you the confidence you need to start scanning your patients after this intensive training. You can also practice procedures such as paracentesis, thoracentesis, and ultrasound-guided peripheral and central accesses.

The course is led by Dr. J. Christian Fox, a world-renowned emergency physician and ultrasound pioneer. Your instructors and course facilitators will be ultrasound fellowship-trained board-certified emergency physicians, ultrasound fellows, and trained ultrasonographers.
