United Communites

4 Sensible Development

Mission Statement:

UC4SD provides a platform for residents of San Jose, Santa Clara, Cupertino, and Sunnyvale to work together to ensure our communities remain vibrant through thoughtful long-term planning and investment that gives a voice to residents.

Latest news:

The Fortbay project at 4300 Stevens Creek Blvd has been made even more dense and taller, with increased office space, further exacerbating the area's jobs:housing imbalance and potentially overcrowding local schools.

A community meeting is being held on Monday, March 26

Monday, March 26, 2018

6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Cypress Community Center (Multi-Purpose Room)

403 Cypress Avenue

San José, CA 95117

The Notice of Preparation for the EIR stated:

1) up to 8 stories, from the originally proposed 7 stories

2) increase in office to 300,000 sq ft, from 244,000 (+23% from the original proposal), enough for ~1500-2000 workers.

3) 582 housing units, up from 500 (+16% from the original proposal), which does not make up for the increase in office space and is insufficient to support 2000 new workers in the area.

See our web page regarding the project for further history and details.

All along Stevens Creek Blvd high-rise buildings of up to 150 feet tall (approx 15-stories) await approval by the San Jose City Council. San Jose Urban Village developments and Signature Projects will impact everyone living in neighborhoods near them, including residents in West San Jose, Santa Clara, Cupertino, Sunnyvale, Saratoga, and Campbell.

Proposed Developments in the area.
