For NSCI 200 and 201, it is really helpful to create flashcards as you learn the material to help solidify your knowledge and have them ready for when you need to study. For studying alone, flashcards, flow charts, and labeling blank diagrams is very beneficial, or you could put your notes into chatGPT and ask for it to create questions for you. Another really great way to tackle these courses is small study groups where you quiz each other and talk through the material, helping identify any knowledge gaps you might have missed on your own!
PSYC 277 and 278 are at their core statistics courses. Learning this material really relies on understanding the work you're doing at every step, not just memorization. Practice is a MUST in these courses, and there are tons of multi-step questions in the textbooks. Re-working examples from lectures is also helpful, and talk through material that is confusing with your peers (or instructors). Another tip is to create cheat sheets with formulas, steps to certain types of questions, and reminders that you can use while you practice.Â
