Valencia Coleman is an undergraduate student at Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia. She is a computer science major with a concentration in video games She is pursuing a minor in business while pursuing a certificate of Web Development. She works at CSU Advise as an academic coach helping freshman and sophomore students adjust to college. She was the president of an organization named S.T.A.R.S, which stands for Student in Technology, Academia, Research and Service., which is dedicated to diversifying the area of technology. Through this organization, she attended the 2017 Microsoft Tapia Diversity Conference. She presented her research in augmented reality at several conferences such as ACM-MidSoutheast, Tower Day at CSU, and the National Conference of Undergraduate Research. In 2018, she was a servant leader volunteer at Jim Blanchard Leadership and got a chance to attend a talk from Steve Wozniak, the co-founder of Apple. Recently, she graduated from the servant leadership program after completing a team service project at Anne Elizabeth Shepherd Home, a home for young girls in traumatic situations. Currently, she is working on her honors senior thesis, which a business management simulation to help business student discover their management style. Her ultimate life goal is to create video games and start a video game company. In her free time, she loves playing video games, writing stories, and reading manga. Her favorite video game series are Assassin’s Creed and Borderlands. Her favorite mangas are To the Abandoned Sacred Beasts and Are you Alice. She plans on going to graduate school after receiving her bachelor’s degree
