Here are some common meeting service positions.
Moderator / Facilitator
Reads the meeting script / guides the meeting
§ Has full permission to interrupt shares if violation of safety /cross talk guidelines
§ Messages members to confirm if they identify as part of the group.
Moves guests to and from the waiting room.
Spiritual Bouncer (Co-Host)
Admits members into the meeting.
§ Removes disruptors from the meeting.
§ Messages members to confirm if they identify as part of the group.
Moves guests to and from the waiting room.
Mutes members or turns off cameras if disrupting the meeting.
Secretary
o Arrives 10 minutes early to set up the meeting.
§ Records reading pages.
§ Keeps group up to date with events from WSO
§ Takes business meeting minutes
Treasurer
o Collects 7th tradition at each meeting.
o Pays Zoom fees
§ Keeps record of receipts for each payment.
o Provides monthly treasurers report.
o Reimburses literature chair/ secretary for copies / book purchases. (f2f)
o Makes contributions to WSO / GSRC
Business Meeting Chair
o Once per month, chairs the monthly business meeting.
o Follows business meeting format.
o Calls for motions, discussion, and votes.
Speaker Seeker
o For the 4th Friday each month
§ Reaches out to experienced UA members who have worked the steps to call in and speak at our meeting.
o Can use the UA Sunday Newcomer speaker recordings if no one is available to speak.
Phone List Chair
o Copies and pastes the We Care Contact list into chat for members to do outreach between meetings.
§ Encourages newcomers to contact other members.
§ Ensures members have resources for action partners, sponsors, and action meetings.
Attraction Chair
o Greets newcomers
o Reaches out to local community to increase awareness of our meeting.
§ Hospitals
§ Therapists
§ Churches
§ Alano Club
§ Unemployment Offices
o Ensures our information is up to date and correct on the UA website.
o Creates workshops / events to attract community to group.
Fellowship Chair
o Leads the anniversary / celebration portion of the meeting.
Creates fellowship events outside of the meeting to increase group unity / community.
§ i.e. Karaoke nights
