When?

There have been a lot more unassisted triple plays turned in May than any other month, and none have ever occurred in June. They seem to come in "bunches" through the years. Six occurred in the 1920s, and seven occurred within nine years either side of 2000. There has never been one turned in extra innings, or in the third inning. If you like to see the unusual, then you're hoping to see one turned in the third inning of a June game! At least one unassisted triple play has been turned each day of the week.
