Welcome to the Petersfield Cycling for Fun
The aim of the group is to Explore by Bicycle around the Petersfield area and sometimes further afield, including an annual cycling holiday and a trip to the Isle of Wight. The group has been established for more than 20 years and regularly gets together. With an emphasis on Cycling for Fun, some have Lycra, most do not, around 50% of the group now have electric assistance, its as much about being with a friendly group of people as the exercise and fresh air.
Rides can be between 8 Miles and about 30, Ranging from Rating 1 - Flat (almost) to 4 which are rather hilly but all are graded so its easy to decide if its suitable for you.
New members extremely welcome to contact the coordinator via the U3A website to Join our Group, you just need to be semi-retired and join the Petersfield U3A with its many groups and activities.
We use a group planning application called SPOND to inform everyone of upcoming rides and to indicate you wish to join in.

In addition to the Ride guidelines (Nov 2017) :
All Riders must pre-book with Leader using the SPOND App
Do NOT assume you have a place on a ride by just ticking yes on a calendar entry as this is not seen by the ride leader!
One or more Leaders assigned to all rides have responsibilities defined in the guidelines and as below
All rides to define distance and rating (1-4) & describe route to ensure individuals can review against their capabilities
Ride 'Group' (those cycling together as a pack) numbers may be limited by the ride leader for safety reasons.
Max number of Riders may be restricted for group safety or other reasons.
Rider Emergency information is available to the Leader using SPOND
