TCPC Operations ran from April of 2024 to July of 2026. Operations included a range of different digital media platforms, processes, and projects that made up the collective sum of TCPC during its operational time. Below we detail each component of TCPC operations, with relevant links and descriptions to how each component was utilized.
Although active TCPC operations have ended, we have retained a few of the resources that don't require extensive capacity needs or oversight, including the interactive studio map, the TCPC Studio Profiles, and the Twin Cities Pole Dance WhatsApp Community. To read more about or access these resources, please visit our Sustained Programming Page.
The TCPC Resource Board was a resource for polers to share links to things such as polewear brands they liked, retreat information, accessibility resources for different demographic groups, and more. It was hosted for free on the website Padlet, and has since been discontinued, but a static version of the resources that were included can be viewed at the link below.
During active operations, TCPC operated operated via the Google Account "twincitiespolecollective@gmail.com" to coordinate with other organizations and groups. This also allowed active hosting space for this Google Site, a Google Drive, and other G Suite applications on which events and projects could be developed.
TCPC Small-Scale events featured monthly pop-up events inviting others to join activities such as comedy shows, karaoke nights, brunches, ice castles, burlesque shows, and other activities around the city.
TCPC Large-Scale events can be ready more about on our Events & Projects page!
The original Infrastructure Team was composed of our three TCPC Directors: (1) Operations Director, (2) Social & Events Director, and (3) Research & Technical Director.
The Infrastructure Team expanded in Feb/March of 2025 to include a Social Media Coordinator, and 4 additional members of the Social & Events Committee.
In August of 2025, all position titles had been disbanded and a group of volunteers coordinated TCPC logistics together as the "TCPC Infrastructure Team."
Our Instagram was launched in May of 2024.
During its Initial Launch, we focused on leveraging the story function multiple days per week. Stories would highlight events and workshops at the local studios around the Twin Cities, and would shoutout pole dancers in the community around holidays sharing holiday content on their feeds.
During its Initial Launch, our post feed primarily featured (1) information about what the collective was, the mission, vision, and values associated with the collective, and all the logistics for events and projects that were in development. Additionally, our post feed featured our Monthly Overview which highlighted upcoming events, workshops, and performance opportunities around the Twin Cities.
The TCPC Instagram presence slowly dwindled over the years. The story function became minimally used due to sustaining capacity needs, and primarily only used to highlight new posts to our feed. Our posts also began to dwindle, mostly only featuring our Monthly Overview, and a periodic update related to a large-scale event a few times per year.
TCPC Research was a primary focus of the collective from May of 2024 - August of 2025. In August of 2025, the capacity for research became unfeasible and this component of the collective was disbanded.
Pre-Research Input Form (May 29 - August 16 of 2024): We asked community members to share "What specific information about Twin Cities Pole Studios would help you in making informed decisions about which studios to attend?" and received 17 responses. We then thematically coded all the responses, and used these responses to help us begin developing studio profiles. To read the full results of this pre-research input form, read the summary post here. We also asked community members "Do you have any specific questions about TCPC's work that you would like the board to answer?" - We received 7 responses to this, and the full post detailing both the questions and answers to this prompt can be read here.
Using the information from the Pre-Research Input Form, we spent Fall/Winter of 2024 and Spring of 2025 developing the TCPC Studio Profiles. These Studio Profiles were planned to be much more extensive and fully integrate the community's input and direction, but the constraints of this project resulted in a much more limited scope. These Studio Profiles are still active, and the full methodology related to their development can be viewed on our Sustained Programming page.
Initially, we had hoped to conduct a full Community Needs Assessment of the Twin Cities pole community in conjunction with our TCPC mission and vision. However, after the first step in our research initaitive was proved unfeasible due to rigor of scope, we discontinued all further research initiatives, including any development of a Community Needs Assessment.
The TCPC website was launched in May 2024, but was a minimal feature of our TCPC active operations. It was home to our FAQ document, our Interactive Studio Map, and highlighted some other general info about the collective during active operations. Since operations have ended, the website has been overhauled to instead provide an archival overview of TCPC as a functioning entity, and was last updated at the date provided on the footer of this page.
