TCPC came to be when three pole dancers in the Twin Cities found themselves feeling disgruntled and frustrated trying to navigate pole studio climates in the Twin Cities. All three polers had poled across multiple studios, knew a vast community of polers they considered friends, and battled feelings of isolation and outcast when navigating expectations of studio owners. In response, these three polers generated the idea to create a space and community where pole dancers could exist together across the metro area regardless of studio affiliation or lack thereof, hoping to build a stronger inter-studio community.

What Brought Abbey to TCPC:
"I joined TCPC with the primary goal of making information about pole performance and training opportunities more accessible to other dancers within the Twin Cities. Through my own experiences, I've encountered the hurdles of locating classes and performances tailored to my current needs, and I want to help simplify this process for others and empower them to more easily find the training paths and performance avenues that fit with their unique aspirations, needs, and preferences. Over my almost 5 years a a pole dancer, I've also come to apprecaite the value of learning from many instructors across various studios. My collective experience as a dancer (and acrobat, quite frankly!) has been made all the stronger through the unique insights and expertise of others throughout the Twin Cities pole community. Because of this, I also joined TCPC to help others explore the diversity of opportunities available within the community if htey wish to explore!" - Abbey, May 2024.

What Brought Jenni to TCPC:
"Pole Dance has completely changed my life. Training with different instructors across different continents, states, & studios for almost a decade has exposed me to so much knowledge, so many different perspectives, and so many phenomenal human beings. However, I ahve not yet found a built-in system designed to connect everything together. My goal is for TCPC to provide an unmet need essential in sustaining community: a space to exchange resources, share stories, create memories, and deepen relationships all over a shared love of pole. Regardless of the studio somebody trains at, the style of pole they're pursuing, or the purpose pole adds to their life, they'll have a space ready with open arms to help enrich their life in all the ways that community is designed to do so." - Jenni, May 2024.

What Brought Sam to TCPC:
"I always say pole has given me a hobby, a sport, an art, and a community all in one. However, it isn't always easy to bring that community out of the studio. I have spent the last few years really focusingo building friendships and community, and I hope TCPC can provide an organized way for all of us in the pole world to connect. I want to help create a unified local pole community, where we all support each other regardless of what studios we train at or what purpose pole serves in our lives. I want to take my experience in organized labor and extend it to my pole community - we are strongest together, sharing our knowledge and experiences with care and generosity." - Sam, May 2024
