Tips & Terminology
The same steps apply for
Moon Bunny, Hearts, T-Rex, Harvest Snail, Smooth Sailing,
so let's first get some terminology straight
The part that the lantern is named after, like Snail
The parts (frame) between the 2 Faces, has serrated Tongues
Make the optional tassel and pendant first.

These continuous straight lines help you fold the paper. Not meant to be cut.
Tear along these dotted line perforations to save time on cutting.
Flip the lantern parts to the white side to see the lines.
Carefully take all the parts out along the perforated lines.
Use the stick (included in kit) to help take out smaller parts.
Trace out the Face on one translucent paper. Only trace the outer frame, no need to trace the inside details like the teeth for T-Rex here.
Clip the other blank translucent paper behind, so you can cut both papers at the same time.
Cut generously INSIDE the lines - the paper has to be smaller than the lantern Face.
Glue the translucent paper on the white side of each Face of the lantern.
If you put glue on the translucent paper, be careful, they are fragile.
Make sure the translucent paper covers all the cut-outs on the lantern face.
The top Siding of the lantern always has 2 holes, the bottom Siding has 1 hole.
Fold the Tongues along the folding lines. Scrape with a spoon or your nails to tighten the folds.
Add glue to the skinny folded-up tongues.
Bend the sidings to make them line up easier in the next step.
Line up the bottom Siding (has 1 hole) with the dented line (0.5 inch) on the white side of a Face.
Use both index fingers to press down the Tongues while pushing the edge of the Siding flush against the bottom of the Face.
On the same lantern Face, line up the top Siding (has 2 holes) against the marking on the at the top of the Face.
Again, use both index fingers to press down the Tongues while pushing the edge of the Siding flush against the bottom of the Face.
Circular lanterns (Moon Bunny) doesn't need aligning, you decide which part of the circle looks good on top
top Siding (has 2 holes) of the lantern: thread 1 loose end of the string through each hole.
Now the loose ends are inside the lantern.
Tie a knot with the loose ends.
Bottom of the lantern: thread both loose ends of the string through the single hole.
Recommended: attach the tassel / pendant before threading.
Now the loose ends are inside the lantern.
Tie a knot with the loose ends.
These knots inside to keep the strings from slipping out.
You finished half the lantern!
Put the other Face of the lantern flat on the table, white side up.
Just like before, line up the Sidings with the dented marking on the top and bottom edges of the Face
Use both index fingers to press down the Tongue while keeping the Siding flush against the edge of the Face
