I’m a 6th generation Aussie from a smaller Australian city called the Gold Coast, where the sun is always shining and the waves always perfect for gliding with your board. I live near the border with NSW, my mom’s home state.
Many years ago I renounced UK citizenship, to drop dual nationality, which is one of the best things I’ve ever done. In a past life I was a med student in the UK where I presented a dissertation about epilepsy at the ILAE Gowers national medical student prize in Gateshead.
There’s so much good about Australia where my family has been for over 200 years, it’s hard to know where to start.
But a good place is on the beautiful East Coast and spotting our amazing animals including kookaburras and echidnas! Some other fun things I like to do with my time include hiking in the Hinterland, bouldering, touching the bottom of the ocean when I’m out surfing, exploring linux, and eating sushi and French crepes. If anyone can tell me where in Oz to get crepes, or even just decent maple pancakes, I will be forever grateful.
Outside of home, I also love the United States.
