Synopsis:
Ten years after an unsolved series of murders in Northern California faded into a cold case, a new string of killings begins in Fresno. The attacks are swift, personal, and seemingly unrelated, leaving police with no clear suspects and little physical evidence. As fear spreads through the community, Detective Elena Ruiz is assigned to the investigation and struggles to find any connection between the victims.
While examining their recent activities, Ruiz discovers each victim had been dealing with personal conflicts shortly before their deaths. The pattern is subtle, but it suggests the killer may not be choosing targets at random. Instead, the murders appear tied to private disputes and emotional grievances known only to a few people.
Her search for answers leads her to a small counseling office connected to several of the victims. The practice seems ordinary, and the man currently seeing patients offers reasonable explanations for his involvement, yet Ruiz senses something she cannot fully explain. With no direct evidence and mounting pressure from the media, she continues to dig into the victims’ pasts and the possibility that the crimes mirror the decade-old Bay Area case.
As the killings escalate and public anxiety grows, Ruiz races to uncover the truth before another person dies. The closer she gets, the more she realizes the investigation is not simply about finding a suspect — it is about understanding motive, perception, and how easily private pain can become deadly when someone is willing to act on it.
