Introduction

PuralisScan is a document scanning and organization app designed to help users digitize, read, and sort documents securely on their device.

This Privacy Policy explains how PuralisScan handles information when you use the app. Like all TS Studios apps, PuralisScan is designed to keep data processing minimal, transparent, and privacy-focused through an "offline-first" approach.

Camera Access and Local Processing

PuralisScan requests access to your camera in order to scan physical documents. This access is required for the app’s core functionality.

All document scanning, text recognition (OCR), and "Smart Folder" sorting are processed locally on your device’s processor. PuralisScan does not upload your documents, images, or extracted text to TS Studios servers for analysis.

PuralisScan does not sell your documents, texts, or usage data.

You can revoke camera access at any time in your iOS Settings. (Note: The app's underlying camera framework may also request microphone access by default. PuralisScan does not record, upload, or process your audio).

Document Management and Backup Responsibility

PuralisScan is designed to be a secure, local base for your documents. Because the app operates completely offline, the security, retention, and backup of your documents are entirely your responsibility.

PuralisScan does not provide cloud backups or server-side synchronization. If you delete the app, reset your device, or experience hardware failure, your documents will be permanently lost unless you have manually exported or backed them up (e.g., via the system share sheet).

Network Activity and PDF Export

While PuralisScan is an offline-first app, there is one specific feature that requires network access:

When you choose to export a document as a PDF, the app makes a brief, anonymous network request to a third-party service (api.ipify.org) to retrieve your device's current public IP address. This is used solely to generate a local "audit trail" stamped onto your exported PDF for your own records. TS Studios does not collect, log, or monitor this IP address.

Data We Do Not Collect

• PuralisScan does not require users to create an account.

• PuralisScan does not collect your name, email address, phone number, or address inside the app.

• PuralisScan does not upload, store, sell, or share your documents or folders on TS Studios servers.

• PuralisScan does not use your documents for advertising, tracking, or training artificial intelligence models.

Purchases and Subscriptions

PuralisScan may offer subscriptions, lifetime access, or other in-app purchases through Apple’s in-app purchase system.

Payments, renewals, cancellations, and refunds are handled by Apple through your Apple ID. PuralisScan does not receive your full payment card details.

PuralisScan may use third-party purchase infrastructure, such as RevenueCat, to help manage subscriptions, purchases, restore purchases, and premium access status. Such services may process limited purchase-related and technical information, such as product identifiers, transaction status, entitlement status, app version, device information, and anonymous purchase identifiers. These services do not receive your document content from PuralisScan.

You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID account settings.

Diagnostics and Technical Data

PuralisScan may receive limited technical information needed to improve stability and performance, such as crash reports, diagnostics, and usage information, depending on your device settings, platform services, and your consent where applicable.

This information may include technical details such as device type, operating system version, app version, crash logs, and performance data. It is used to identify bugs, improve reliability, and maintain the app.

PuralisScan does not use diagnostic data to access, upload, or analyze the content of your documents.

Legal Basis for Processing under GDPR

For users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, PuralisScan processes data under the following legal bases where applicable:

• Performance of a contract: to provide the app’s core functionality, including scanning and displaying your documents inside the app.

• Legitimate interests: to maintain app security, improve performance, diagnose crashes, manage purchases, and prevent misuse.

• Consent: where iOS, Apple, or applicable law requires your permission, such as camera access or optional diagnostics.

• Legal obligations: where we are required to comply with applicable laws, tax, accounting, consumer protection, or platform requirements.

Third-Party Services

PuralisScan may rely on third-party or platform services, including:

• Apple App Store

• Apple TestFlight

• Apple StoreKit / In-App Purchases

• Apple crash reports and diagnostics, depending on user settings

• RevenueCat, for purchase and subscription management

• ipify.org, for retrieving the public IP address during PDF export (audit trail)
  These services process information according to their own privacy practices. PuralisScan does not send your document content to these services.

International Data Transfers

PuralisScan is designed to process document content locally on your device.

Some technical, purchase, or diagnostic information may be processed by Apple, RevenueCat, or other service providers outside your country of residence, depending on their systems, your device settings, and your region. Where required, such transfers should be protected by appropriate safeguards under applicable data protection laws.

Data Retention

PuralisScan does not store your documents on TS Studios servers.

Any local app data stored on your device remains on your device unless you delete it, reset the app, or uninstall the app.

Purchase and subscription records are handled by Apple and purchase infrastructure providers according to their own retention practices.

Crash and diagnostic data, if available to us, is retained only as long as reasonably necessary to improve app stability, diagnose issues, and comply with legal obligations.

Your Rights under GDPR

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you may have the right to:

• Request access to personal data held about you

• Request correction of inaccurate personal data

• Request deletion of personal data

No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. We work to reduce unnecessary data processing and limit access to information where possible.
