About TruReel
Real Opinions. Real Growth.
The internet has made it easier than ever to create and share videos. But over time, we noticed something important: most platforms only highlight positive engagement. Likes, views, and follower counts are visible everywhere, while honest negative feedback is often hidden or unavailable.
That raises an important question:
How do we know what people actually think?
TruReel started as an experiment to answer that question.
Our goal is simple: create a platform where content is judged by the audience—not by algorithms, influencer status, or one-sided engagement metrics. Whether it's a short video, an opinion, a product review, or even commentary on current events, people deserve to see a more complete picture of public reaction.
Why We Started
We often see videos receive millions of views and thousands of likes, yet there's no easy way to understand whether a large number of viewers actually disagreed with the content.
In discussions around news, politics, entertainment, education, and social topics, engagement numbers alone don't always reflect public sentiment.
TruReel introduces something many platforms have moved away from:
Visible Like and Dislike Counts.
By allowing both positive and negative reactions to contribute to a video's public score, viewers can better understand how the community feels about the content as a whole.
Our belief is simple:
More complete feedback leads to better decisions.
Privacy First
At the same time, we believe honest feedback only works when people feel comfortable sharing it.
That's why TruReel is designed differently.
We never reveal who liked a video.
We never reveal who disliked a video.
We don't publicly display who follows whom.
We only show aggregate counts—not personal identities.
This approach encourages people to react honestly without worrying about social pressure, retaliation, or popularity contests.
A Prototype With a Bigger Vision
Today, TruReel is an early prototype.
We're launching with a focused set of features to learn what users truly want. Rather than building hundreds of features from day one, we're listening to real feedback and improving step by step.
If the community finds value in the idea, we'll continue investing in TruReel and grow it into a full-featured platform with better creator tools, stronger moderation, richer community features, and an even better experience for everyone.
Our Mission
Our mission isn't to promote one viewpoint or another.
It's to build a platform where audience feedback is more transparent, creators receive honest opinions, and viewers can better understand how content is being received.
Because sometimes the most valuable insight isn't how many people clicked Like—
it's seeing the complete picture.
