Hello Families!
The counseling program offers a variety of services to help meet your students where they are. These services target social-emotional learning, academic development, and career exploration.
Counseling Lessons- I do twice monthly counseling lessons in each grade level classroom. These lessons cover many topics including feelings, coping skills, friendships, mindfulness, self-control, career-exploration, respect, responsibility, and kindness.
Small Groups- I provide small groups as needed throughout the school year. Students will be grouped together based on the topic of the small group and grade level. Topics included are family changes, grief, coping skills, self-control, healthy friendships, and social skills. I always send home a permission form for a student to participate in a small group.
Individual Counseling- I provide short-term solution focused counseling. Counseling is individualized for the student's needs. Individual counseling is also provided as needed if there is a temporary need of the student.
Immediate Student Support- If a student is having a hard day or not acting like themselves, they can take a break from their classroom and talk with me.
Community Resources- It is my job to help you find resources in the community if you need any kind of assistance. Please let me know if you need resources for any of the following:
