Have you ever asked yourself this question? What is the true reason that drives us to admire a night sky?
The reason is that when we are looking at the sky at night, we can admire an infinite number of stars emitting their peaceful light.
So, let me ask you another similar but surprising question:
How do you think Yehoah Elohim, our Heavenly Father, sees the earth during this period of darkness under Satan’s destructive reign?
Have you ever wondered how Yehoah Elohim perceives the earth from His throne in the heavens?
If we accept the fact that this earth is still, for the time being, under the authority of Satan, the prince of darkness, then we can imagine that when Yehoah is looking at our earth, He sees it as a place as dark in His eyes as a night sky! Yet, our Father also finds joy in looking at the earth, even though it is engulfed in darkness. And the reason for our Father's joy is similar to the reason we admire the sky at night!
Indeed, isn’t the starry sky a symbol of the saints,
who are like stars shining
through the darkness reigning over the earth?
And if this is the case, then Yehoah Elohim must—hopefully—rejoice to see in our world of darkness a multitude of saints appearing to Him like so many little lights.
We must do everything in our power to be among those lights that please our Creator, our Father and His kingdom.
So let us meditate a little bit about light and darkness on earth.
Sinful men are feeling well in darkness.
This is what Job explains in his book, chapter 24:
" 13 There are those who rebel against the light;
They do not know its ways
Nor abide in its paths.
14 The murderer rises with the light;
He kills the poor and needy;
And in the night he is like a thief.
15 The eye of the adulterer waits for the twilight,
Saying, ‘No eye will see me’;
And he [a]disguises his face.
16 In the dark they break into houses
Which they marked for themselves in the daytime;
They do not know the light.
17 For the morning is the same to them as the shadow of death;
If someone recognizes them,
They are in the terrors of the shadow of death."
Yeshouah (Jesus), on the other hand, encourages us to be a source of light.
Here is the teaching Yeshouah gives to those who are willing to listen in Luke 11:
" 33 No one, when he has lit a lamp, puts it in a secret place or under a basket, but on a lampstand, that those who come in may see the light. 34 The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, when your eye is [i]good, your whole body also is full of light. But when your eye is [j]bad, your body also is full of darkness. 35 Therefore take heed that the light which is in you is not darkness. 36 If then your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, the whole body will be full of light, as when the bright shining of a lamp gives you light.”
When Yeshouah came into the world, He once again set the example by shining His light in this world of darkness.
Let us read in John 1:
" In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Elohim, and the Word was Elohim. 2 He was in the beginning with Elohim. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not [a]comprehend it.
6 There was a man sent from Elohim, whose name was John. 7 This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9 That[b] was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 11 He came to His [c]own, and His [d]own did not receive Him. 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the [e]right to become children of Elohim, to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of Elohim.”
This is further confirmed in Matthew 4:
" 4:13 And leaving Nazareth, he (Yeshouah) came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim:
4:14 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
4:15 The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;
4:16 The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.
4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."
But pay attention to this important warning given by Yeshouah: we must not have a false, flattering image of ourselves but rather adopt the attitude of the publican in Luke 18:
" 18:9 And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:
18:10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
18:11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
18:12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
18:13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
18:14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.”
To emit light, you need oil!
It will be especially important to be able to shine and illuminate those around us in these end times, as Yeshouah warns us in the parable of the ten virgins in Matthew 25:
"25:1 Then (at the time of the advent of the Anointed Yeshua according to Matthew 24:3) shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
25:2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
25:3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
25:4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
25:5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
25:6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
25:7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
25:8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
25:9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
25:10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
25:11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
25:12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
25:13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh."
This parable suggests that these ten virgins who altogether fell asleep might represent the lukewarm Church of Laodicea, as described in Revelation 3:
" 3:14And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
3:22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.”
A little explanation about lukewarmness: The body of a person who is awake is warm while a dead body is cold. In between, the temperature of a sleeping body like the one of the ten virgins is lukewarm.
By the way, please note also that the attitude of the Church of Laodicea is similar to that of the Pharisees when this Church is thinking that she is rich and that she needs nothing!
Conclusion
Let us hurry up and follow the teaching of Paul in Ephesians 5:
" 5:8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
5:9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)."
By doing so, perhaps our Creator, Yehoah Elohim, when looking upon the earth, will be pleased to see it shine—especially because of your light!
