Tryouts

Tryouts will be held Friday January 17th and Saturday January 18th, 2025. Here are some frequently asked questions about the tryout process.

You MUST have a physical on file with the school in order to attend tryouts.

• How do I sign up for tryouts? There are flyers all around campus posted on the walls that have a QR code. You will need to scan this code and completely fill out the google form by Thursday, January 16. 

• When are tryouts? Tryouts will be a two day process, held on Friday January 17 and Saturday January 18. On Friday January 17 we will begin at 4:30pm on the Panther Baseball Field.

• Who can attend tryouts? Anyone that is currently enrolled at North Crowley High School, CTE, or CCA.

• Can you play more than one sport? Yes, if your current season is still in progress please reach out to Coach Darneal at jason.darneal@crowley.k12.tx.us and he will explain the process.

• How many teams will the North Crowley baseball program have? We always hope to have 3 different baseball teams: varsity, junior varsity, and sophomore teams but due to numbers at times we only have 2 teams.

• Are freshmen allowed to participate in the baseball program? Yes, freshmen can and do participate in the baseball program. Generally, the sophomore team is comprised of primarily freshmen and sophomores.

• Who can make the varsity team? Anyone that we feel can help the team, grade classification does not matter.

• How many players will be carried in the entire program? Normally, there can be anywhere from 40-45 players kept in the baseball program with 3 teams and around 30 for 2 teams.

• What will I need to bring with me to tryouts? If you have them then you will need to bring baseball pants, hat, cleats, glove, and a bat. Please do not go buy new equipment until after you have made the team.

• Do the teams play and practice over Spring Break? Yes, and EVERY player will be expected to be at every game and every practice with NO exceptions.
